The Appoquinimink Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the sole mission to support the students, staff, and community of the Appoquinimink School District.
Statement on Our 2025 Golf Outing
We are saddened to announce that the annual Appoquinimink Foundation Golf Outing scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, has been cancelled. The recent report released by the State Auditor regarding the Appoquinimink School District’s financial position has made it impossible to secure the sponsorships we need to host a successful event.
We would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the students and staff of the Appoquinimink School District. As an entirely volunteer-run, legally-registered 501(c)(3) organization, we are entirely independent from the district. Our organization was founded solely to independently support the students and staff. We wholeheartedly stand by that mission.
In an attempt to clear up additional confusion, the Appoquinimink Foundation (legally known as the Foundation for Appoquinimink Schools) is in no way connected or related to the district-run Friends of Appoquinimink.
If you have submitted a grant application for the 2025-2026 school year, we would like to ask for your patience. Our annual golf outing is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Its cancellation will undoubtedly affect our ability to fund grants and senior scholarships moving forward.
If you would like to support our mission by volunteering for fundraising efforts or by making a donation, please email info@appofoundation.org. Our fundraising efforts support grants that enhance the education of our students or aid our teachers, and will never fill budgetary gaps resulting from financial mismanagement.

The Students
The focus of the Appoquinimink School District is to provide a world-class education where each of our students gains the knowledge, understanding, skills, and attitudes needed to contribute and flourish in a global society. Appoquinimink has a reputation in Delaware as one of the most successful districts in the state. The Appoquinimink Foundation’s focus will be to enhance our youth's experience as they progress through their education, not only while they are here but also in the form of scholarships for higher education.

The Staff
Educators are critically important to the success of our students. And yet, we all know they face budgetary constraints as they work to provide the world-class education our students want and deserve. The Appoquinimink Foundation is dedicated to finding innovative means of support to educators through classroom grants and educator stipends for continuing education.

The Community
The socioeconomic and cultural health of our community is dependent upon the quality of our children’s education. Today’s students become tomorrow’s employees and leaders. To serve the student, support the educator, in turn creates the future community we need to stay competitive in the world economy.
