Meet Our Board Members
Amar Tailor
President
Amar Tailor is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a long history of hotel, restaurant, and institutional management. Since 2015, he has been the owner and operator of Mathnasium of Middletown, DE where he and his staff teach math to kids in a way that makes sense to them.
Amar has been an active member of the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce since 2015 and the Foundation for Appoquinimink Schools since 2019, serving as both the Vice President and the President.
He lives in the Middletown area with his family.
Jennifer Maderia
Vice President
As a mother to five children and step-mother to three who have all graduated from, or are currently attending the Appoquinimink School District, Jennifer is invested in supporting exceptional public education in Middletown. She has worked for many years as a leader in the financial sector and is currently a Vice President at M&T bank in the Wealth and Institutional Services Division, handling business analytics and regulatory reporting.
Jennifer has served on the Board since 2019, first as the Secretary and then as the Vice President. She resides in Middletown with her family
Jeff Klein, EdD
General Board Member
Jeff Klein, Ed.D. (University of Delaware) is a Senior Policy Scientist at the University of Delaware. He has spent years in leadership roles in the areas of project planning, sample recruitment, instrument development, data collection and management, data analyses, and the production of reports and manuscripts for CRESP projects, including NSF-funded programs and evaluations for the Delaware Department of Education. Prior to his work at the University of Delaware, he was the Coordinator of Research, Development, and Evaluation at the Appoquinimink School District.
Dr. Klein has over 20 years of experience in using assessment data and leveraging technology to bring about positive outcomes for students. He and his family reside within the Middletown area.
Amanda Russell
General Board Member - Social Media
Amanda Russell is a writer and content strategist for small businesses across the country. She earned her AA and BA from the University of Delaware and her Paralegal Certificate with a Concentration in Litigation from Widener University's Legal Education Institute. After working as a paralegal for a decade, she opened her own creative content and marketing firm.
She and her family live in the Town of Odessa, where she is a member of the town's Planning Commission. She has a long history of volunteering with various charities and organizations around the state. Amanda is also the mother of three children, all of whom attend school in the Appoquinimink School District.
Richard Berry, Jr.
General Board Member
Rich Berry has a long history of leadership roles in non- and for-profit sectors. A former educator, he now serves the community as the Executive Director of the YMCA of Middletown. Rich is a graduate of Temple University and the New Calvary School of Ministry, as well as a Veteran of the United States Army and National Guard. He is passionate about helping others become the best version of themselves and enjoys building and maintaining relationships that better the community.
Originally from Chester, Pennsylvania, Rich now resides in the MOT area with his high school sweetheart and their two children.
